Present a 1 day FMA Intensive Seminar w/ Guro Tom Cohen from Charlotte, NC. Tom is a direct student of Grandmaster Bobby Taboada and a Full Qualified Instructor (FQI).
This 4 hour intensive seminar will cover aspects of the Taboada System Curriculum. This can be applied to different arts, weapons, and empty-hand techniques.
Balintawak Escrima Cuentada is a Filipino Martial art, promoted Worldwide by Grandmaster Bobby Taboada. GM Bobby’s system is well known for it’s speed, precision and explosive power.
This seminar is open to all experience levels. Dress comfortably for the workout, and bring an escrima stick if you have one. Otherwise, one will be provided for you.
GM Bobby’s organization is also well known for friendship and brotherhood. This is represented on his logo as two dots, also on the right thumb of his instructors that choose to carry that symbol.
To that end, all proceeds from this event go to our late friend, Chris Nalley. Chris epitomized friendship and brotherhood. So, we honor him by giving back to his family.
We also have a raffle with lots of specialty items and martial arts weapons through the website, with 100% of those proceeds going to Chris’ family.

Bon Rea Balintawak is a small but dedicated group in Charlotte, NC. Guro Tom trains directly with Grandmaster Bobby at least once a week. He teaches students from his home 5-8 x a week, and works to preserve and teach everything that GM teaches as part of his system. Tom has been consistently training and teaching Martial arts for 30+ years. He brings very detailed body mechanics and specifics to his instruction. Tom is a dedicated acupuncturist, offering his unique approach through his private practice, Insight Wellness, in Charlotte, NC. He enjoys training, teaching, writing, and his wife and five rescue dogs.
